The Gender and Development Office advances an inclusive, equitable, and empowering campus environment through education, advocacy, collaboration, and capacity building.

Vision

To create a campus community that fosters an inclusive, equitable, and empowering environment for individuals of all genders, promoting their holistic development and success.

Mission

To educate, advocate, and collaborate with the college community to challenge and dismantle gender-based discrimination and violence, and to promote gender-responsive policies and practices that support full participation and leadership.

Objectives

  1. 1Promote gender equality and equity within the college community through education, advocacy, and policy development.
  2. 2Provide support and resources to address and prevent gender-based violence and discrimination on campus.
  3. 3Collaborate with College units to integrate a gender perspective into academic and co-curricular programs.
  4. 4Develop training and capacity-building programs that promote understanding, sensitivity, and inclusion.
  5. 5Conduct research and disseminate information on gender and development issues.
  6. 6Support participation and leadership by women and marginalized groups in College governance and decision-making.
  7. 7Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and diversity within the College community.
  8. 8Provide counseling and support services concerning gender-based violence or discrimination.
  9. 9Collaborate with local and national organizations to promote gender equality and empowerment.
  10. 10Advocate for the rights and needs of women and marginalized groups in the College and wider community.

Gender Sensitivity

Seminars, training, and workshops that strengthen gender sensitivity and inclusion.

Gender Integration

Activities supporting the integration of gender perspectives in academic and co-curricular programs.

Training and capacity-building activities for students, faculty, and staff.
